Capitol Square - Place du Capitole
Pomp and grandeur.
The Place du Capitole one of the central squares in the city of Toulouse; in many ways it is the beating heart of the city.
Lined with impressive constructions on all sides, the square is notable for the Occitan cross that stands tall in its centre. Since as far back as the Antiquity this square has been a bustling crossroad for communities living in the area, though under many different names. It has been known as the Place du Capitole since 1848.
